Thymosin Alpha-1
Immune-signalling research · From $62
Overview
Thymosin alpha-1 is an N-terminally acetylated 28-residue polypeptide originally isolated from thymic tissue fraction 5 and corresponding to residues 2-29 of prothymosin alpha. It is studied in preclinical and in-vitro systems as a modulator of innate and adaptive immune signalling, including Toll-like receptor 2/9-dependent dendritic cell activation, T-cell differentiation and cytokine expression, and has been used in cell-culture work probing PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway signalling. The synthetic form (thymalfasin) is pharmacologically classified as an immunomodulatory peptide; catalog material is supplied for laboratory research use only.
