Kisspeptin-10
Reproductive-hormone research · From $48
Overview
Kisspeptin-10 is the C-terminally amidated decapeptide corresponding to residues 45-54 of the KISS1 gene product (metastin) and represents the minimal fully active fragment at the G protein-coupled receptor KISS1R (GPR54). In vitro it is characterized as a KISS1R agonist coupling through Gq/11-phospholipase C signalling, and it is widely used as a reference agonist in receptor pharmacology. Preclinical studies have additionally examined its actions in hypothalamic and supraoptic neuronal preparations, peripheral vascular tissue, and osteoblast differentiation models.

Research explained
The research interest
How brain cells respond to reproductive-hormone signals.
What was studied
The selected experiment recorded electrical activity in slices of rat brain.
Evidence context
This source concerns electrical activity in rat brain tissue, rather than reproductive outcomes in people.
Selected-source check, not a complete clinical review. No human-use recommendation.
